Supporting our local community

The Idea behind this blog post was to inform you guys of a heartwarming story about Norfolk’s local community rallying around to help a young lad progress with his passion, and how it all started here at The Bodycentre.

In the past couple of years there has been a rise in a trend of “car spotters” and there are a fair few who follow us on our social media platforms, and visit us on regular occasions, one in particular is a young lad called Isaac Tibbitts. Issac is immensely passionate about the car scene, he is always messaging us over social media asking what cars we have in and whether he’s aloud to come and photograph/film them for content on his social media pages. On Friday 10th September Isaac messaged us to see if he could pop down and take a look at a McLaren 720S and Brabus G Wagon we had on site, and of course we were more than happy for him to pop by. While he was on site he asked us if he could have any old car badges we weren’t using so that he could pop them up on his wall. We had a rummage around and managed to find a fair few. We asked if we could take a picture of Issac in front of our unit holding the badges, to post on our social media pages, with the idea of show our followers, and our community, the passion and dedication Isaac has for cars. We thought this would also help create awareness of what Isaac is about and in doing so guide people to his social media pages. We didn’t do this for any other reason than to show our support for him and help promote his passion.

Soon after the post went live we had hundreds of comments on our Facebook and Instagram pages, from everyone in the local community, mentioning they have seen him around the city with his camera out but was never sure what he was actually doing. This awareness gave rise to such great community spirit and what happened next was truly amazing. He was initially offered loads of car badges from local people including rare Mitsubishi Evo badges & Lamborghini badges, but then he was offered drives and visits from local supercar owners so that he could take pictures/videos of them, he was offered an Audi RS4 engine block so that he could make it into a table, he was even offered off-road driving lessons on private land, and had multiple people offering to set up car meets on their land in Isaac’s name so that he could document the day. In addition to all this a just giving page set up by a local gentleman called Leon Smith to help raise money in order to get Isaac a top of the range DSLR to help further his passion. As a result of the reach this generated, Isaacs social media following grew by hundreds in just a few days. We never expected anything like this to happen, but we are so proud of our local community rallying together to support such a great young lad. We ourselves have donated to the Just Giving page and already there has been hundreds of pounds donated. Issac couldn’t thank us enough for the opportunity we have given him through this post, but it’s really everyone involved that deserves the thanks. To show how grateful we are for everyone involved and to create awareness of how generous our local community is, we thought this would be a great idea to contact an editor at the EDP and  see if they would be interested in publishing this story. After various correspondence with ourselves and Issac, the following Friday (17th September) this idea came true and an article was published in the Evening News. We really hope that this will open up multiple opportunities for Issac, motivate him to keep progressing with his passion and never give up.

We have attached a link for the just giving page below, so if you are interested in helping Issac, no matter how big or small the donation, please donate to this great local cause.
